Keep it real -- Part 1 of my opinion

As you know, I read a lot of blogs. One of the reasons I follow and read the blogs that I do is because of what the blog authors have to say and how they say it. Most of them keep it real. When they decide to become something other than what I originally found so wonderful about them, I usually stop following them. My blogroll has changed over the years but surprisingly not that much. And that's because of the bloggers themselves.

Let me explain that a little further...

Don't write your blog for me or anyone else. Write it for you. If you fill your blog with lots of fluff no one will be too interested for very long. By fluff I mean writing a post just to have one up. If you have to "come up" with something to post about then maybe you should just skip that day. If, that is, what your goal is is to have people reading your stuff. If you just have your blog as a journal for yourself then it's fine to fill it with fluff. Does that make sense?

There are several blogs that I follow that only post once every few days, once a week or even once a month. There are no rules about how often you should post. I've had days on my Happy At Home blog that I posted several times and then I've gone a lot of time in between the posts (sometimes that wasn't by choice but that's a different story...).

All I'm trying to say here is keep it real. Be true to yourself. Don't post if you don't have anything to say. You'll be surprised how many people will want to read what you write if you don't overload them with a bunch of boring things. Don't feel pressured to post every day if you don't have a post. Have fun. That is after all what blogging is all about...at least to me :)

Maybe I'll have a few more thoughts tomorrow....Have a great day everyone ♥ See you soon!

I used to fear not having anything to write but then decided writing something less often is better than writing nothing daily.
